Short summary
Short summary
Healthy soils store carbon, support food production, and help tackle climate change, but detailed soil information is often lacking. We developed a framework to identify the best time to map soil organic carbon by tracking seasonal changes in vegetation and soil in northern Tanzania. We found that the Short Rains provide the clearest picture of soil carbon, helping organisations improve field surveys, reduce costs, and strengthen land management and carbon reporting.
